Acupuncture

How does it work and is it safe?

Scientific studies and publications confirm the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture. Its effects include influencing the nervous system, stimulating the synthesis of neurohormones (endorphins, serotonin), and enhancing the immune system.

Acupuncture works not only with the body and internal organs but also primarily with the nervous system and emotions stored in the body.

Acupuncture can be used as a standalone method or as a complementary therapy alongside pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and physiotherapy.

The effects of acupuncture therapy include reduced stress levels, easier relaxation and adaptability, improved sleep quality, increased vitality and a positive outlook on life, motivation to act, and the transformation of harmful habits.

What does it help with?

Acupuncture is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a treatment method recommended for over 100 conditions, including:

  • hormonal, gynecological, menopausal issues, painful menstruation, PMS, fibroids, endometriosis, PCOS, postpartum and lactation support,
  • migraines, headaches, bruxism, tinnitus,
  • stress, emotional disturbances, concentration problems, anxiety, depression, insomnia, hyperactivity,

Treatment

An acupuncture treatment involves inserting thin, single-use, sterile needles into specific points on the body to restore the free flow of Qi energy. Stress, emotions, poor dietary habits, or lifestyle can lead to blockages or imbalances in Qi energy, which may manifest as pain, digestive issues, or gynecological problems. By stimulating acupuncture points, I promote physical and mental well-being and support the body in restoring balance and healing.

Acupuncture needles are very small — usually 0.2 mm. Insertion is not painful, though you might experience tingling, pressure, or a mild electric sensation along the meridian.

To choose the right points during acupuncture therapy and assess which areas need support, I conduct a detailed interview regarding symptoms, lifestyle, dietary habits, and emotions. Additionally, I will check your pulse, examine your face and tongue, and perform abdominal palpation.

About Me

My ShenDao Path

In Chinese medicine, Shen Dao refers to the "Way of the Spirit" or "Path of the Spirit." This term consists of two characters: Shen, meaning spirit, consciousness, or the psychological aspects of a person, and Dao, which translates to way or path.

Chinese medicine emphasizes a holistic approach to health, focusing on the balance and harmony between body, mind, and spirit. Shen in this context refers not only to mental and emotional health but is also considered a key element influencing overall health and well-being. Dao is a moral pattern, a path that Heaven has imprinted in the human heart. Dao represents the right way of life, enabling us to realize our potential.

My current work stems from my personal Dao path, filled with many bumps and challenges for which I am grateful, as they led me to Chinese Medicine, which has been with me for many years. Initially, I experienced it as a patient and since 2017 as a student. With joy, I can now support you on your journey towards better health, accompanying you with mindfulness and compassion for the difficulties you face, observing and listening.

My goal is to provide prevention and support you in returning to health by activating the body's natural forces, allowing you to live life with lightness in heart, body, and mind. In my practice, I use acupuncture, fire cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and TDP lamps. You can also expect dietary and herbal recommendations.
